FREE ACCOMMODATION for all Australian Wedding Guests

Unfortunately we do not have any photos of the rooms at the momnet as its still term time. However they have a single bed but they are easily made into doubles( two singles pushed together ). The rooms are HEATED and carpeted and have a wardrobe, drawers, desk, bedside table, wash basin and easy chairs. ( see below photo )

watch this space!

The bathrooms are communal, the ratio is usually six rooms per bathroom. 2 baths/showers and two toilets in each bathroom. There are also full Laundry facilities available at a small cost per load of washing on a coin op machine.

There are also fully fitted kitchens in each corridor. There will be no students living in hall until the 12th of January 2002 so full use of these facilities is available. As much as we would love to cook for all of you we are expecting about 25 guests so we cannot manage all of you. Tea, coffee, bread, milk, sugar, butter and cereals will be provided and runs to the supermarket can be arranged if further provisions are required. Reading has heaps of places to eat for all budgets just ask for directions.

We have a common room with sattelite television and comfy seating. The hall has a games and lounge area that can be used even if the bar is not open.

If you want to stay somewhere else with a TV in the room and your own ensuite bathroom you will be looking at least £45 - £70 per room per night on a bed and breakfast basis.

Mrs Nicol ( Hall Manager ) has kindly let us have the rooms for any of the visiting Australian guests FREE of charge. All we ask is that you could bring a small gift from the land of Oz as a kind gesture for her hospitality. This is of course in lieu of a weding present to us because you being here is the best present that you could give.

The quickest and easiest way of traveling around the area is by train.

In many towns, such as Oxford or Windsor, parking can be difficult. The train stations are marked clearly on most tourist maps. If you have not done so already, I suggest you buy a Lonely Planet guide for Britain.

This should have most prices for entry fees to sites of interest. I do recommend the red bus tours around London, Tower of London and the Millennium Wheel.
